š Discovering Sine and Cosine in Precalculus Honors |
Students inĀ Ms. Killgoarās Precalculus Honors classĀ used uncooked spaghetti to model the x- and y-coordinates around the unit circle.
Through this hands-on activity, students discovered how those coordinates create the graphs ofĀ cosine and sine!

š¼ Building Career Skills Through Work Study |
On Tuesday,Ā Youth ConnectionsĀ met with Work Study students for a workshop focused on resume building.
Students learned about the key components of a strong resume, how to tailor it for different employers, and had the opportunity to create their own.
Additional workshops will continue to be offered for students on Tuesdays!

š Homecoming Kicks Off the Fall Season at FHS! |
On September 26,Ā 600 studentsĀ came together for the FHS Homecoming Dance, hosted by Student Government and the Underclassmen and School-wide Events Committee.Ā DJ AceĀ kept the dance floor moving with music spanning the last two decades!
Homecoming kicked off an exciting fall season at FHS, with theĀ Color Run on October 4Ā and theĀ first home football game on October 8Ā up next!

š Where Science and Art Meet |
Students inĀ AP Environmental Science and 3-D ArtĀ welcomed National Geographic ExplorerĀ Kat Owens, a scientist and artist whose work focuses on plastic pollution.
During her visit, students began creating their own artwork, contributed to Katās giant fin whale sculpture, and researched scientific studies for educational infographics.
Their work will be on display inĀ January at Project B Gallery. More information to come!

Students inĀ French 3Ā practiced the pronunciation of new vocabulary as they prepared to read Michelle Fournierās novelĀ La Magie de Manie.
The activity helped students build confidence with both their speaking and reading skills in French.

Great stories are sparking curiosity atĀ FHS Academy at Thayer! Students are readingĀ The Great Gatsby,Ā In the Time of the Butterflies, andĀ The Alchemist, exploring themes of dreams, courage, identity, and perseverance.
A shout-out to our students for embracing these literary journeys and to our teachers for bringing the pages to life and building a love of reading!

š Nicholas Duarte Named MassLive Athlete of the Week! |
Congratulations toĀ senior Nicholas Duarte, who was namedĀ MassLiveās Athlete of the WeekĀ after a standout performance in the Flyersā 36-27 victory over Braintree.
Duarte finished withĀ 215 rushing yards and four touchdownsĀ on 18 carries, threw aĀ 21-yard touchdown pass to Augustin Capuzzi, and broke loose for an electrifyingĀ 73-yard touchdown run.

Students inĀ ECE HonorsĀ recently completed a study of childrenās authors and had the opportunity to read books by those authors to students atĀ BLOCKS Preschool.

š¾ Exploring Population Dynamics in Environmental Science |
Environmental Science students becameĀ black panthersĀ for the day as they hunted prey and explored the factors that limit population size.
Students calculated theĀ carrying capacityĀ of their classroom ecosystem, experienced the impact of habitat destruction, and learned how wildlife bridges and tunnels help animals safely cross roads.

Congratulations toĀ Kelli PearsonĀ andĀ Adrianne Schueller, who were both recognized in theĀ Office of Teaching and Learning NewsletterĀ for their outstanding work with students.
Adrianne was recognized for fostering student voice, reflection, and academic discussion through Visual Arts, whileĀ Kelli was highlighted for her collaboration, flexibility, and support of students in the Phoenix Program.
We are proud to see their work celebrated across the district!
