Get to Know Us Better

[PLACEHOLDER CONTENT] Nestled in the vibrant community of Santa Barbara, California, our district is committed to providing exceptional learning opportunities that inspire creativity, critical thinking, and lifelong success for all students.

The Career Development Program (CDP) at Framingham High School prepares students for real-world success through hands-on work-based learning and career-focused education. Formerly known as Work Study, CDP helps students connect classroom learning with future career pathways by offering job placement support, professional skill-building, and career exploration opportunities.

Through specialized tracks—including Trade Exploration, Entrepreneurship, and Health Science—students build resumes, develop interview skills, and explore their post-secondary goals. Participants benefit from internship opportunities, field trips, and mandatory seminar classes, all while gaining valuable work experience.

At its core, CDP empowers students to take charge of their future with the motto:
Your Future. Your Job. Your Journey.

Why Explore Skilled Trades?
The Trade Exploration Cohort provides students with meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that connect academic subjects—like math and science—to real-world applications. Through exposure to industries such as construction, automotive technology, HVAC, plumbing, and more, students gain essential life skills, develop problem-solving abilities, and build confidence. This program also empowers students to make informed decisions about whether a career in the skilled trades aligns with their strengths, interests, and long-term goals—while preparing them for high-demand, high-wage pathways.
