The Technology Education/Engineering Department at Framingham High School offers a series of comprehensive programs involving the study of design and visual communication, television broadcasting, computer aided design, architecture and engineering technology. There are nearly 30 different courses offered that are project based and provide an emphasis on practical use of current, industry standard software, computers and peripherals, tools and materials. This is to engage students in order to help them better understand the technical world. Students are encouraged and challenged to apply critical and creative problem solving skills in developing solutions. The program meet the “practical arts” expectation for Framingham graduation.
Some courses offered by the Technology/Engineering department have articulation agreements with post-secondary institutions where the course has been aligned with the college’s expectations. These courses can receive college credit when attending the articulated program at the college.
