On the Plus Side

...is a simple reminder of some of the positive events that happen at Framingham High School every week. #flyerpride

NHS Charity Volleyball Tournament

The National Honor Society wrapped up another successful Charity Volleyball Tournament. This year 20 teams played for their favorite charity in a 3-day tournament.

After coming in second place for the past two years, Team FLH came in first with $675 going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Team 7 Reasons came in second with $75 going to the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind.

Poetry Out Loud

After winning the FHS school competition, sophomore Lilian Martin from Ms. Beaulé's English class competed in the sectionals round of Poetry Out Loud in Hopkinton last weekend, reciting two poems, "In praise of my bed" and "Becoming a redwood."

Framingham High School was also recognized for being one of the longest-running participants in the competition!

Cancer Kids First Club

The Cancer Kids First Club is holding a toy and book drive until Friday, March 21st. We will be accepting donations of new toys, books, and art supplies that can be dropped off in designated boxes in C118 or the Main Lobby.

For money donations, we accept cash and venmo (@jzheng73). All donations will go to pediatric cancer patients at Boston Children's Hospital, and any support would be greatly appreciated!

Flyers Indoor Marching Band

Over the weekend, the Flyers Indoor Marching Band won 1st place at their competition in Salem, MA. Not only did they win their division, but they had the highest score of the whole show by a 2 point margin.

Their next competitions are coming up on 3/22 in New Bedford and on 3/23 in Dudley. If you see any Marching Band students or staff, feel free to cheer them on!

National Reading Month

This week, Principal Albright read Fenway Park from A to Z to some tiny Flyers-the Toddler 2 class in the FHS Daycare Center- as part of National Reading Month.

Weekly Club Spotlight

Environmental Awareness Club

The Environmental Awareness Club was founded in 2018 by a group of environmentally concerned students and faculty. We work to bring awareness to environmental issues through education and outreach. Our club members meet with various school leadership teams to develop and implement more sustainable options in our district and with community members to help improve the health of the environment in Framingham. It is our hope that if we continue to educate students, staff, and community members about the impact their choices have on the environment we will inspire positive changes that will lead to a brighter tomorrow. Recently, the club hosted Maria George from Energize Framingham, who presented on "Climate Optimism."

Please Note

This is not meant to be a comprehensive list as we have so many great events happening at FHS.....each week different events, activities and groups will be highlighted.
