PSAT Sign-Up - Sophomores & Junior Only
We are doing things a little differently this year. The PSAT will be offered on Saturday, October 18, at 8:30 AM at Framingham High School for any interested 10th or 11th grade student.
Cost: Free of charge Transportation: Provided for students who request it on the registration form (linked at the end of this email).
Deadline for Sign-Up: October 3rd
What is the PSAT?
The PSAT is a practice assessment that helps students prepare for the SAT and other college readiness benchmarks. It gives valuable feedback on academic strengths and areas for growth, guiding students as they plan for future testing and college applications.
For 11th graders, the PSAT also serves as the qualifying exam for the National Merit Scholarship Program, which may open the door to significant scholarship opportunities.
Who Should Take the PSAT?
We recommend the exam for all 10th and 11th grade students who plan to apply to college and take the SAT.
If you wish to take the exam, please REGISTER HERE. You need to be logged into your school email to use this form. Don't forget to indicate if you will need transportation so we can ensure proper bus routes for all students.

Color Run to support the Class of 2026
Get ready to run, walk, and get covered in COLOR! Join us on Sunday, September 21st for the Framingham high school Color Run to support the Class of 2026.

Registration: 9:30 AM
Race Start: 10:15 AM
Event Details:

FHS Library's After-School Hours in September
The Library will have extended after-school hours beginning this coming week. Students are welcome to stay in the Library for a quiet place to do homework, following this schedule:
Sept. 8th-19th: Mon. & Thurs. until 4:00pm / Tues., Weds. & Fri. until 2:15pm
Sept. 22nd* and after: Mon., Tues., Weds. & Thurs. until 4:00pm / Fri. until 2:15pm
*note: Late Buses begin on Sept. 22nd

PTBO CORNER
What is the FHS PTBO?
The Framingham High School Parent Teacher Booster Organization is a 501c(3), non-profit organization. We foster cooperation and communication between families, students, administration, and staff. We raise money to provide funding for teacher grants that enhance curriculum, senior class scholarships, and staff appreciation events. We meet four times a year to discuss issues at the high school and brainstorm ideas for improving our community.

2025-2026 Meeting Schedule:

Arrival and Dismissal
All cars dropping students off will pull down the middle lane in two rows up to the crosswalk. Once the row is at capacity, students will exit their cars. All cars will exit and the new row of cars will follow. This will mean not all students will be dropped off at the crosswalk. All students should utilize the crosswalk in the parking lot.
In order to keep things moving, it is imperative that drivers drop their students off wherever they fall in line and not wait until the crosswalk. Additionally, students should be ready to immediately get out of their vehicle. If you or your student need additional time or assistance getting out of the car, alternative arrangements can be made. Please reach out to your house VP to do so.
For dismissal, cars may access the first row as has traditionally been done. As cars arrive on campus, please pull up as far as you can so that as many cars as possible may fit into the row. Additionally, there should be two rows of cars in that lane.

Alternate Transportation Options and Update
As we work to expand school bus service, we encourage families to use the Transit App Download to view free MetroWest Regional Transit Authority (MWRTA) bus routes and walking directions. The app is easy to use, and students ages 12 and older may ride the MWRTA without a caregiver. All students ride for free by showing their school ID.

Cell Phone Policy (Building-Wide Focus)
Upon entering the classroom, students will place phones in caddies or away in bags. Phones will not be visible or on their person. Same applies to airpods/earbuds.
During instructional time, phones are away and silent including trips during class-time to the bathroom. (Consistent with MCAS/AP Protocols)
No charging, not on desk, in pant pockets, on desk seat, on top of backpack, etc.
Students can continue use in hallways, cafeteria, or during privileges this year.
Parents have a role to play in helping us enforce this policy. Please refrain from texting or calling your teens during school hours. If there is a family emergency, then revert back to what we all did while growing up: call the school directly 1-508-620-4963.
Cell Phones have become ubiquitous in recent years and schools have struggled to adequately come to terms with their use, but it is increasingly clear that cell phones have a detrimental effect not only on student performance, but also on school culture.

E-Hall Pass
FHS utilizes a digital hall pass system called Securly Pass (Formerly named E-Hall Pass). Please see the document linked below for instructions on how to request a pass. You will need your school ID to expedite the process. We will not be using paper passes and Campus Safety Monitors will have the E-Hall pass app to check on permission for students in the hallways.

In Case of Crisis App - Download & Setup Instructions
Instructions for downloading the In Case of Crisis app and the Student Check-In Playbook for Framingham. This app was referenced in the student lessons this week and may be used for students to check-in as safe if an evacuation from FHS becomes necessary.
