Framingham High School is excited to invite all families to a new and re-imagined Open House experience!
This year’s event, called “Open House – Plus Side Live,” will celebrate the many ways our students shine through academics, arts, athletics, and community. Inspired by the college open house model, the evening is designed to connect families, showcase student talents, and highlight the vibrant life at FHS.

📢 Why This New Format?

Instead of the traditional classroom walk-through, Plus Side Live offers a flexible, high-energy community celebration that captures the whole student experience. Families will:

• Experience the talents and passions of FHS students

• Connect with staff in a relaxed setting

• Explore the school through guided tours

• Save in-depth, 1:1 academic conversations for virtual conferences in November

📄 After the event, families will also receive digital course documents (syllabi, grading policies, attendance expectations, etc.) ensuring access to all academic information from their child's specific teachers and courses.

• Families meet in their student’s advisory for a brief welcome

• Advisors will help families sign up for virtual Parent-Teacher Conferences (scheduled for early November)

6:15 – 8:15 PM
 ✨ “Plus Side Live” Rotating Showcases (15–30 min sessions)

• Theater & musical performances

• Fine Arts exhibits

• Marching Band showcases

• Cheer & Dance Team exhibitions

• Unified Basketball scrimmage

• Robotics Team live and interactive demos

• Family & Consumer Sciences presentations

• Clubs & Activities Fair

• Flyer News/TV demonstrations

• Guided building tours led by Seniors Helping Freshmen (30 min)

• Academic department tables with teachers available for curriculum questions

• And more......

🌍 Access & Support for Families

• Multilingual Support: Spanish, Portuguese, & Haitian Creole interpreters available throughout the evening.
  
  

• Transportation Assistance: For the first time, limited buses will transport families from the following locations:
  
  

  • Harmony Grove Elementary School

  • Waushakum Beach (Nipmuc Rd)

  • Framingham Common (Vernon St)

  • Gates Street & Tennis Courts / 1500 Worcester Rd

  • Hemenway Elementary School

🚌 Important Bus Details:

• Pickup begins at 5:15 PM, buses depart promptly at 5:20 PM

• Return trip at 8:15 PM after the event

• Seating is first come, first served
  

• Please note: children under 3, strollers, car seats, crutches, and pets are not permitted

♿ Wheelchair accessible bus available.
