Framingham Public Schools is proud to lead the way in teaching our youngest students. At the start of the current academic year, the district began implementing a new program called the Boston Focus Curriculum across more than thirty Preschool and Pre-K classrooms.

To ensure every student receives the same equitable, high-quality educational experience, this curriculum has been integrated across all learning environments, including , general education, Spanish Immersion, and special education classrooms. Furthermore, the district invested in comprehensive training and instructional coaching to support  all teachers and classroom assistants.

Under the dedicated leadership of Christina Shea, the results of this initiative have been exceptional. Mid-year data shows an 84% increase in lessons dedicated to foundational  vocabulary development and a 34% increase in lessons using top-quality texts. Educators  are already sharing success stories, including students whispering their new vocabulary words to themselves while falling asleep at nap time.

Check out this feature in the PRISM Pulse on the Bright by Design website. We are incredibly grateful for the hard work that Christina Shea and the entire staff do every day to support and inspire the students of Framingham.
